The Challenge

Meyocks client Topco was looking to slice out some of the premium delicatessen retail market and create a new, affordable brand featuring high-quality meats and cheeses. They turned to Meyocks to pile on the expertise to help launch the new brand.

How We Helped

Meyocks developed a strategy for positioning and launching Topco’s deli meats and cheeses offering including a:

  • Competitive Review — Explored packaging, merchandising and messaging of national and store brands.
  • Customer Review — Identified primary target consumer and developed a strategic POV to help determine positioning and personality.
  • Creative Development — Developed naming and packaging concepts and conducted shopper research to evaluate creative.
Cornershop Cuts

To evoke premium quality and the authentic feel of a destination delicatessen, the name Cornershop Cuts was created. Marketing materials and photography also picked up the quality feel with sophisticated, yet approachable design.

What We Achieved

Meyocks positioning for the Cornershop Cuts brand as an authentic, premium deli experience without the premium price was well-received and adopted by Topco members. Based on the initial success of the nationwide launch, Cornershop Cuts is well-positioned to add products to their lineup.
