Mid-Level Marketing Data Engineer

How You Will Help Our Clients Mean More

As a member of the Data Science team, you’ll be responsible for supporting and enhancing our data infrastructure to enable the collection, storage, and processing of large datasets generated by marketing campaigns. You’ll provide and implement recommendations to standardize, automate and normalize the data flow and storage. This role requires a blend of technical skills in data warehousing, data integration, and data cleaning and processing (including ELTs), as well as expertise in programming languages like Python, and SQL. Your goal will be to enable efficient data-driven decision making in the marketing industry by making data accessible, accurate, and reliable for near-real-time analytics and reporting. You’ll work closely with the rest of the team, including analysts, and other key stakeholders to design and implement data pipelines, data marts, and data lakes to support the data needs of the organization. You’ll take ownership of assignments and see them through. You’ll manage relationships and billing with platform providers like SnowFlake and FiveTran; understanding the service offering of tools and ensuring Meyocks is leveraging the tools to the fullest potential.

Skills, Education and Experience Required for This Role

  • Degree or equivalent work experience in data science, computer science or similar discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of work-related experience with a similar role in a marketing professional environment.
  • Proficiency with data warehouses (Snowflake), cloud computing, data storage, and ETLs.
  • Proficiency with one or more data aggregation and analysis languages like Python, R, etc.
  • Proficiency with SQL and relational databases (SQL and mySQL).
  • Experience with writing custom web scrapers.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining custom APIs.
  • Ability to partner with internal team members to understand needs and search out credible data sources.
  • Willingness to learn, grow and evolve with the team.
  • Must be a self-starter: quick learner, intuitive and proactive.
  • A qualified candidate is willing to learn new skills, grow and evolve with the Data Science team and Meyocks.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Clear communication skills.

 Skills, Education and Experience Desired for This Role

  • Hands on experience with Snowflake, AWS Cloud Services, Lambda, and/or FiveTran is a plus.
  • Building analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insights into key marketing metrics.

Where You Will Work

This position can be virtual. We prefer candidates in the Midwest but are open to other US locations (only) for highly qualified candidates. We will not provide sponsorship. We will require travel 6-8 times a year.
