What is the Meyocks Mentorship?

The Meyocks Mentorship pulls students out of the classroom and immerses them into the real world of agency life at Meyocks. Students will experience the daily rhythm of branding, design, copywriting, account service, research and more firsthand. The mentorship give students genuine preparation for the work they’ll do after graduation, guided by people who care about where these students end up.

Who is the Mentorship For?

Freshman through juniors at Iowa State University, University of Iowa, Des Moines Area Community College, and Northwest Missouri State University who are eager to learn more about agency life but haven’t had the opportunity to do so because of work or other commitments. We’re not interested in students’ grades, we’re focused on their level of excitement and commitment for a true professional experience and access to a Meyocks Mentor.

The Logistics

From booking a hotel if you need it to providing a stipend for meals, students shouldn’t have to choose between paying rent and showing up. We promise to cover the logistics so there’s nothing standing in the way of you participating.

Before You Arrive

Students connect with their Meyocks Mentor remotely before the program starts. First days can be nerve wracking enough, but knowing friendly faces ahead of time helps show students who’s already in their corner day one.

The Week Of

Students will spend five days at our West Des Moines office. During this week they’ll be learning how advertising actually works, meeting people who do this for a living, and building meaningful experiences that inspire their career paths.

After the Program

Students’ mentors don’t disappear when the week ends. We encourage students to stay connected with their Meyocks Mentor because the best guidance often comes later when they’re actually making career decisions.

Giving a Damn Changes Everything.
